ZENAIDA
ZENAIDA
Anyone from Colombia - or even any cumbia fan - would get the reference! “La Zenaida” is a classic cumbia song by Colombian singer Armando Hernández who is originally from the Caribbean coastal department of Bolívar, Colombia – a region known for its Afro- Caribbean heritage. The song tells the story of a hard-working woman named Zenaida who leaves her humble home early in the morning, rolls her tobacco, and ventures out to sell fruits which reflects her tenacity and resolve to earn a living despite the obstacles she encounters.
It’s a testament to the spirit of not only Colombian people, but of all Latinos. We wanted to capture the vibrancy of a fruit market in a blend of Colombian and Ethiopian coffees with notes of Brown Sugar, Cocoa, and Dried Fruit. While listening to the song and enjoying this coffee, we hope that your mind will be transported to an exotic place, and hopefully one day, go and visit!
